Cross Timbers Emergency Response Team
Dial 911 Emergency
About Us

We were the first...and are the only Volunteer First Responder group in Erath County, Texas.

We were organized in 1993 as the Morgan Mill Vol. First Responders and became the first and only first responder organization in rural Erath County. Our mission was to provide EMS first responders to the citizens in and around the community of Morgan Mill.

Our great success has lead to a gradual increase in our response area and we have now become a large multi-community first response group.

To better reflect our larger response area, we are now operating as the Cross Timbers Emergency Response Team, a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation.

Our goal is to provide Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to injured victims until an ambulance can arrive which can take up to 20 minutes.

We have highly trained first responders who carry emergency equipment with them and respond from their homes/jobs to the scene of an emergency.

We provide EMS/First Aid to the Morgan Mill ISD/Bluff Dale ISD/Lingleville ISD sporting events.
We also receive donations for providing EMS/First Aid to the Firecracker 100 Bike Race, 2008/2009 NRCHA World Finals, Larry Joe Taylor Texas Music Festival & Rhymes/Vines Festival, Cross Timbers Sprint Triathlon, Adam Carrillo's Labor Day at the Lake Music Festival, 4 C's Bucking Bulls Events, Boyd & Floyd Bull Riding Events, Cross Timbers Trails "Trail Rides" and Stephenville 281 Speedway.
Contact us for info on our services at your event!

We currently provide EMS first responders to the communities of Morgan Mill, Bluff Dale, Hannibal, Patillo, Huckabay, Oak Dale, Lingleville, Highland, Dublin (outside city cimits), Selden, Three Way, Chalk Mountain, Duffau, Alexander, Clairette, Purvis, Enda Hill, Harbin and Heritage Hills.

We provide highly trained VOLUNTEER first responders to the rural communities and serve the citizens with pride!!

Our History:

November 1993- The first organizational meeting of the Morgan Mill First Responders was held and the group was established.

December 1998- Expanded our response area to include the communities of Bluff Dale and Patillo.

February 1999
- Grand opening was held at the new first responder station in Morgan Mill.

October 2003
- Expanded our response area to include the communities of Huckabay, Hannibal and Oak Dale.

December 2008- Expanded our response area to include the communities of Selden, Three Way, Duffau and Lingleville. We also changed the name of our group to Cross Timbers Emergency Response Team to better reflect our service area and response capabilities.

January 2009- Began covering the Southeastern part of Erath County under a mutual aid agreement with SouthPoint First Responders.

This is a brief description of why we have changed our name and expanded our response area.

The community of Morgan Mill has benefited from the services provided by the Morgan Mill Vol. First Responders, so why should other communities be left without these same privileges if we can help them? We are in the "business" of helping people and couldn't turn down the oppurtunity to help more local citizens.

There were many meetings held in the years 2007-2008 to try and find a way to provide first responders in other communities like Morgan Mill. The local ambulance services and the Morgan Mill First Responders have held these meetings in the hope that we could help other communities start their own First Responder groups. A “county-wide” meeting was held in Sept. 2008 and all of the Fire Departments, Ambulance services, and interested citizens met and discussed how we can help these other communities and provide first responders to the areas of Erath County that don’t have them. During this meeting, the solution that kept being suggested by everybody present was for the Morgan Mill First Responders to grow and help provide these services to the other rural areas. There are citizens living in these communities that want to volunteer and be first responders, they just do not have a way to make this happen since there are no first responder groups in these communities and that is where we could help. It takes quite a few people to start a first responder group and none of these communities have that many volunteers. We could allow these citizens to be first responders through our organization and this will allow them to help their neighbors in need.

We needed to change our name to better fit what we were doing instead of having a “Morgan Mill” group with first responders in another community such as Bluff Dale or Lingleville. By changing our name we could have first responders living in any of the communities and they can respond to emergencies that are in that area. This also puts many more first responders throughout the “County” who can respond to any type of major incidents and it means better training, grant funding, equipment and support for the group. A bigger first responder group means we can hopefully gain more support from the citizens, and it helped to qualify us for more state/federal funding.

We are still the same people that would have responded to your emergency in the past as Morgan Mill First Responders, we are just a bigger group with a different name. We have grown to be a group that has been recognized throughout the State for excellent service and professionalism, and we have been able to do this because of the support from the local citizens. We will continue to need everybody’s support in the future. We all started this group to help the sick and injured and now it’s time to help other communities in need, we will never forget that we have gone this far because of the support from the citizens of Morgan Mill !!

We are still an ALL VOLUNTEER group that holds a non-profit 501(c)(3) status and all donations are tax deductible. Our volunteers spent over 5,000 hours in 2010 attending trainings, meetings, events and responding to emergencies. Please show your appreciation to our volunteers by continuing to support them.

We would like to thank these people for our success and for their time and dedication during the establishment of our Organization.
